Article by Michael Goforth II:

Welcome to the Friday Five! This week I'm sharing five books that will radically transform your prayer life. Click on any of the books and you'll be redirected to Amazon where you can pick up a copy. As a side note, if you use the links on this page to purchase a book, we'll receive a small commission at no extra cost to you. I'll put the fancy legal statement at the end of the article.*
1. The Prayer That Turns The World Upside Down by R. Albert Mohler Jr.
Publisher's description: "The opening words of the Lord’s Prayer have become so familiar that we often speak them without a thought, sometimes without any awareness that we are speaking at all. But to the disciples who first heard these words from Jesus, the prayer was a thunderbolt, a radical new way to pray that changed them and the course of history."
2. A Praying Life: Connecting with God in a Distracting World by Paul E. Miller
Publisher's description: "When Jesus describes the intimacy He seeks with us, He talks about joining us for dinner (Revelation 3:20). A Praying Life feels like having dinner with good friends. It is the way we experience and connect to God. In A Praying Life, author Paul Miller lays out a pattern for living in relationship with God and includes helpful habits and approaches to prayer that enable us to return to a childlike faith."
3. Prayer: How Praying Together Shapes the Church by John Onwuchekwa
Publisher's description: "This book focuses on the necessity of regular prayer as a central practice in the local church—awakening us to the need and blessing of corporate prayer by examining what Jesus taught about prayer, how the first Christians approached prayer, and how to prioritize prayer in our congregations."
4. Prayer: Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God by Timothy Keller
Publisher's description: "With his trademark insights and energy, Keller offers biblical guidance as well as specific prayers for certain situations, such as dealing with grief, loss, love, and forgiveness. He discusses ways to make prayers more personal and powerful, and how to establish a practice of prayer that works for each reader."
5. Praying the Bible by Donald S. Whitney
Publisher's description: "Offering us the encouragement and the practical advice we’re all looking for, Donald S. Whitney, best-selling author of Spiritual Disciplines for the Christian Life, outlines an easy-to-grasp method that has the power to transform our prayer life: praying the words of Scripture. Simple, yet profound, Praying the Bible will prove invaluable as you seek to commune with your heavenly Father in prayer each and every day."
Have a great weekend!
